Wildcard | 2023 Student Model Photo Shoot | Ionia MI

Throughout the years, the Student Models have been giving me ideas for photo shoots, but it wasn’t possible to make their ideas a theme available for everyone in the Student Model Program. That’s why I decided to come up with our Wildcard idea. So we could make those ideas – big or small – come to life.

Wildcard Rules & Limits

There are some limits and rules to this theme to ensure the shoot stays within budget.

Locations must stay within Ionia or the Student Model is required to pay a location fee
All props and outfits are supplied by the Student Model – Unless I already have them
Student Models can use Wildcard for any theme that is not on the current year’s schedule
Student Models are required to help secure location permission for private properties
Student Models can do as many Wildcard themes as they want – there is no limit

Most of the Wildcard shoots this past year were used in place of themes that weren’t on the 2023 schedule – such as hobbies/sports and beach. I did have a Student Model want photos at a fire department since she just finished her fire safety and EMT training.

Since there isn’t a limit on how many Wildcard themes you can do in a year, Bailee did 3 different Wildcard shoots since it would add to her Senior portraits. I always encourage this and recommend that the seniors in my program schedule separate sports or seasonal flower sessions.
